Christmas Time

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. Things have been hectic as usual. Ethan has started school and is in Junior Kindergarten. He loves going to school (for now) and is doing really well. Time really flys and it's amazing to see how he's grown. Madison is learning a lot of things from her brother. She can put a string of words together and for those who were at her child dedication, does not like being constrained. She has found and tasted freedom and there's no turning back.

Welcome Baby Nolan Chao

Congratulations to Goo Goo and Jeung Jeung on their new addition to the family! Baby Nolan was born on August 24th 2008 and weighed 6lbs 7 ounces. Ethan and Madison are very excited about their new baby cousin!

Endless Summer Days

Happy 4th Birthday!

Summer Days

The lazy days of summer are hardly that. It's been a busy couple of weeks and will continue to be with birthdays, weddings and baby showers. We've already been to two weddings, 2 birthdays, and a baby shower. (Congrats Goo Goo and jeung jeung)

Happy 1st Birthday!!

Madison turned one today! She weighs in at 20 lbs 13 ounces. She missed out on her child dedication ceremony and Birthday lunch cause she came down with Roseola. Our little girl can say quite a number of words like mommy, ma ma (grandma), goh goh (brother), Bai bai (and point at a nose), and ba ba (daddy). Thanks to all who presented her with a birthday gift and a special Happy Birthday to our friend Tyson Wong! We'll celebrate together next year!!!!

Trip To Houston

In April, we took a little trip down to Houston Texas for a family vacation. It was a fun time of sun, fun, food and shopping. Ethan and Maddy got to meet their cousin Amanda as well as uncles and aunts from Mari's side of the family. Thanks to all the primos and primas for their hospitality and letting us crash with them.

Here we are in Houston! Ethan was a little overdressed for the 90 degree Texas humidity.

Maddy really enjoyed the plane ride. She enjoyed the airplane seats more than her carseat.

Ethan was all ready for his trip and carried his luggage everywhere he went.

March Break!

March was another busy month and full of events. It was dad's birthday and then it was Easter. Madi has learned how to crawl and is speeding through the halls. She's also got her first tooth in. Ethan is really growing up fast and can carry on a conversation with people.

Adventures of Ethan Cheung

Ever since Maddie came along, Ethan has been a really good big brother. He's been very mature and loving to his little sister. Even though he's lost most of the attention he recieved he's been a real blessing to us. A couple of weeks ago, mom and dad took Ethan to the Backyardigans show at the Sony Centre. We were able to bond with Ethan and spent some quality time with him. It was a great show and Ethan is old enough to be able to laugh and interact with the characters.

It's been another busy month for the Cheung family. Madison is now 8 months and weighs 19 pounds 7 ounces. She's moved into the big carseat and is almost crawling. She can get into position but she doesn't move. Ethan has taken up a new hobby which is cooking. Here he is making chocolate cupcakes. He's also has really come out of his shell at sunday school and Awana. No more shy Ethan.

It's been a pretty hectic month. Madison is now 7 months and she's actually interested in playing with Ethan's toys. Let's get it on! There are moments where Ethan is willing to share and of course moments where Madison has to fight for the toys. We're trying to teach them both that they have to share their toys. Trip to the ROM

During the christmas break, Ethan and I took a trip downtown to the museum. We were trying to be cultured and check out the dinosaur exhibit. Ethan was a little too bored to see all the dinosaurs but we had a good time none the less.

The Great Outdoors

We ventured out to the Tree Farm this year to pick our Christmas Tree. It was a cold day but Ethan had a lot of fun hiking in the snow looking for that perfect tree. It looks so small when it's out in the field but luckily it was the perfect fit when we got home. This looks like the start of a Christmas Tradition for us.

Madison is now 6 months old

Madison is now 6 months old, she's 18 pounds 3 ounces and her doctor has given her the ok to have solids. So for her first meal she had rice cereal and banana. She loved having solids and had no trouble swallowing her dinner. Another milestone reached!

Who would be more excited on Christmas morning that kids who are just dying to open their presents. Again Ethan and Madison were blessed with many gifts from many people and on behalf of them, we say thank you. They had a ball opening their presents.

Welcome Baby Tyson

We were very blessed to have Tyson come over to visit over the holidays. For those of you who don't know Tyson, he's the son of Ethan's godparents and he's definitely a blessing and a miracle. Believe it or not, he was born on the same day as Madison. Madison was born at 10:27am and Tyson was born at 10:30pm. What are the chances of 2 friends having their baby on the same day? No matter what, we are truely blessed and we were very happy to have Tyson visit.

First Christmas In Markham

Christmas time is always a busy time for us. Even more so as this christmas was Madison's first Christmas and our first christmas in our new house.

This year was also the first time we had a fresh christmas tree. We went to the tree farm and cut oiur own. It was the perfect tree.

Life with two little angels can be hectic and unpredictable but we definitely treasure spending some quality time with them over the holidays as they will grow up before we know it.

As this was our first Christmas in Markham, we went all out in terms of decorations. These are inflatables snowglobes.

Happy Kids

Madison is now 3 months and almost sleeps through the night. Ethan is taking care of his little sister and trying to get into a routine with a little sister at home. He always has to help everyone no matter what the job is. He's going to Awana with his friend Charlotte. We had a couple of days where both of them were sick which was not fun. It has been a busy summer for the Cheung Family. Ethan celebrated his 3rd birthday with not one but two parties. Madison celebrated had her one month celebration and we were blessed that Mari's mom and aunt were able to visit from Venezuela for the occasion. Madison also took her first road trip to Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. Madison also got her ears pierced and has really grown over the past 2 months. She likes to laugh and listen to people talk. She likes watching her big brother Ethan. Ethan also had a number of firsts as well. His first fishing trip as well as his first trip to Wonderland. We are truely blessed with such great kids.

We are proud to introduce to you the newest member of the Cheung family, Madison Ka-Yun Cheung. Madison was born on June 26th 2007 at 10:26am. Madison was 8 lbs 15 ounces and 22 inches long. She is home now and under "house arrest" with mom as per chinese law. Ethan has been an amazing big brother and we are proud of how helpful and loving he's been to Madison. We truely are blessed to have such wonderful kids.

FAMILY ROAD TRIP

In September we took a family road trip to Ottawa (thanks Uncle Enoch and Stephanie), Montreal and Quebec City. It was the first time that we went on a road trip with just the 3 of us and Ethan seemed to enjoy it!

BACK FROM THE MOTHERLAND!

Sorry for the lack of updates. The trip back to Venezuela was awesome! Ethan got to meet all of his cousins and grandparents and they spoiled him big time. He was great on the flight (thanks to Gravol) and didn't get sick once (thanks to God). He's now 15 months and walking on his own. He learned how to walk in the past couple of weeks and is now running around the house.

A YEAR OF FIRSTS

Ethan is now almost a year old. He's crawling around faster than a speeding bullet. Babbling all the time and has 4 teeth! He's also learned how to climb up stairs and feed himself. He's a joy to have and mom and dad can't believe he's almost 1. Thanks to all those who have been such a joy to Ethan.
